Got things you want to know?
we’ve got the answers
There are many many things we can’t give you the answers to – like why toast always lands butter-side down or how bumblebees fly – but we can answer your questions about our campervans and booking a trip with us. If we haven’t answered your question here, head over to our contact page.
Are the campervans dog-friendly?
Jasmine, Pebble and Skye are all dog friendly. You can bring up to two dogs with you and must not leave them unattended in the camper at any time. There’s a one-off fee of £25 to cover the extra cleaning, plus, you are responsible for any damage your fur-babies cause to the campervan while it’s in your care.
Are the campervans fully insured?
Comprehensive motor insurance is included in the basic price, for your and our peace of mind. If you are unfortunate enough to be in an accident, you’ll have to pay the policy excess which is £500. All drivers must be aged between 25 and 75 years old, have held a full valid driver’s licence for two years and have less than six penalty points.
What are the pickup and drop off times?
Pick up times are from 2pm on the first day of the hire. All vans will need to be back at the depot by latest 12pm on the last day of the hire to ensure a safe turn around for future customers.
Are our possessions insured while they’re kept in the campervan?
Sadly not. It’s very important that you get suitable insurance to cover your possessions while they’re kept in the camper. We aren’t responsible for any loss or damage to your property.
Is there a security deposit?
There’s a £400 security deposit payable a week before collection of your campervan, which will be returned within a few days of you returning your camper – assuming you’ve caused no damage to the camper or lost anything.
Can I extend the trip while we’re already in the camper?
Why wouldn’t you want to stay longer? If you want to extend your trip give us a call and we’ll see what we can do. At busy times it probably won’t be possible, but we’ll certainly do our best to help if we can.
Can I leave my car with you when we hire a van?
Yes of course. We provide one parking space per camper hired. The parking area is covered by CCTV however, we can’t be held responsible for any loss or damage caused to your vehicle while left at our depot.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, we charge a non-refundable deposit of £125. If you’re booking within six weeks of the start of your hire period, we require full payment of the hire costs when you book.
What ID do we need to provide?
You and any other drivers will need to provide us with your full UK photocard driving license and two other documents proving your address. These can be utility bills, a council tax reminder, or bank or credit card statements. These must be dated within three months of the date you provide them. We promise not to laugh at your driving license photos.
Do the campervans have breakdown cover?
All our campervans are covered by 24/7 breakdown cover. We make sure all our vans are regularly serviced and well maintained, but it’s good to know that if something were to go wrong, you’ll be back up and running in no time.
Are the campervans easy to drive?
Our T6 vans feel like you’re driving a large car. They have power-steering and a fairly short wheelbase, so you’ll soon get used to life on the open road. The T2s have a unique driving position, but one that’s easy to get used to – the driving position hasn’t changed since the 50s, so it’s well-proven. Don’t worry, we give full tuition when you collect your camper.
Is the pop-top easy to use?
They are very simple to use. The dampers make everything very easy, plus we’ll make sure you know how to use the pop-top when you come to collect the camper. You can always give us a call while you’re away if you are having problems.
Can you recommend places to stay?
The joy of exploring with a campervan is there are so many cool places to stay. We’d recommend using recognised sites because of the facilities and the extra security you get. You can find loads of places using the Camping and Caravanning Club’s Find a Site tool here.
Do I have to book a site?
The booking of the site or sites you want to visit is your responsibility. This will offer ultimate flexibility for you to venture wherever you wish. We recommend that you check the availability of your preferred sites before booking the campervan, as peak times on favourite campsites can be very busy.
Do you have to use an electricity hook-up when parked up?
If you want to power electrical home comforts like hairdryers and so on, you’ll need to use a hook-up as the electric sockets and the heater only work off the mains hook up. The camper’s leisure pack runs the lights, fridge and cooker ignition, and will provide about eight hours of power between charges.
What do we need to bring?
We provide pretty much all the basics except for your bedding. Things like crockery, cutlery and cookware are provided, as is a Bluetooth speaker, a torch and other essentials. We do plan to provide a bedding service in the future, but with the current situation, we feel it’s safer for our customers to provide their own sleeping bags or sheets, duvets and pillows.
Is there room for our bikes?
At the moment we don’t provide bike racks for our campers, but you could put your bikes inside the campervan while travelling and then lock them up securely elsewhere when you’ve arrived at your destination. We are looking at adding racks to the T6s next year if there’s demand.
You can check the availability of all our campers on our availability page.
